When will Microsoft fix Explore in Windows 7? This same issue was brought up maybe 8 months ago, but Microsoft never responded then - we hope they do so now. The issue is that when one uses the new Libraries function in Explore, files that are deleted from a folder remain visible until either you hit F5, or sometimes after just waiting a long time. Cut and paste a file into another directory exhibits the same behavior. If nothing else, this is most annoying, and it can even lead to unintentional errors in file handling - up to deleting a file that shouldn't be deleted.

And while we're at it, 2 other file handling problems are apparent in Windows 7. The first one is the inexplicable Excel error that there isn't sufficient memory to handle more than a couple of open files at one time (I have 9GB memory), and the second is the extremely long delays that are apparent when you try to open either a Word or Excel file from Outlook. (Those files would be attachments in an Outlook message.) Also, Excel 2007 sometimes just stops working, reboots itself, and goes merrily on its way.

I am now ready to migrate back to 32 bit XP. What is even more frustrating than the above issues, is Microsoft's silence.

    Regards,

    Joe Vles

Why is my message removed? I did show frustration with this long-existing serious problem, but I didn't use any objectionable language or phraseology. Has Microsoft become the king who wears no clothes?
