exchange best practice

    OK this is more of a best practice question. How does having your exchange server also being a DNS server affect the functionality of exchange. Since it uses itself as an DNS server would that slow it down?

    Having dns on the same machine is not going to affect exchange as such, there is no problem with this setup. If dns is heavily used by other clients across the network then obviously this could cause a load on your exchange server if those cleints are pointed towards your dns on exchange server.
