    Hi all!

I'm running into an issue where we cannot edit Distribution Lists. While logged into the account listed as "Owner" of this DL, I receive the following error message when I try press Ok after adding new members to the list:
"Changes to the distribution list membership could not be saved. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object "

Here's what I've checked so far:
    1. In AD, the Distribution List, under the Properties > "Managed by..." tab, the user account we want to have access is listed here under the "Name" field.
    2. Under Properties > "Security" tab, the user his listed her with Full Control privs, and under the Advanced Button > Owner Tab, the user is listed here as the object owner
    3. When I open up the Global Address List (GAL), right-click on the DL here, and choose properties, I show the correct user in the "Owner" field.
    4. And just for giggles, I made sure that this user has full control rights to the GAL in System Manager.

    I have also ensured that:
    1. I am logged on as the user who is listed as the owner of this DL.
    2. I am logged onto a computer which is joined to the appropriate domain in which the DL exists.

    Further info:
I'm trying to edit the DL from inside Outlook 2003.

After some extensive googling and searching MS KBs, I've found that Exchange 2000 had some web-based app called AutoDL, but apparently there's no Exchange 2003 version. Also, I've seen references to a third-party app called Webdir, but I can't believe that a fix would require some non-MS app to fix what seems to be an internal permissions issue.

Looking forward to any help you can offer. Thanks!

    Is this a multidomain forest?

Have you gone to View>Advanced Features in ADUC and then looked at the ACL of the group? Does the manager user have rights to edit the member attribute? The Managed By data is actually useless here - it's the ACL that matters. ADUC does some magic when you edit the manager and select manager can update list to edit the ACL.
