    I have Office 2003 SP3 on XP PRO, SP3.

The question I have is this for Excel 2003:

I have data in two different Excel sheets. Data in column "A" in both sheets has the same 'type' of data. Sheet1, column "A ", has the user ID (8 characters). Sheet 2, column "A ", has the user ID (8 characters). I want to compare the data in sheet 1 - column "A" to the data in sheet2 - column "A" and place an "X" in sheet1 column "B" if the data matches Sheet 2 - column "A" . In other words if Column "A" data sheet1 matches column "A" sheet 2 data, place an "X" in Column "B" Sheet 1.

Is there a VLOOKUP macro/formula to do this type of compare? :)

    Thank you,

    Jim
