I just recently started getting this error and am unsure whats causing it. The only thing I did was move my mouse from the ps/2 port to a usb? This hasnt seemed to cause any problems till this morning and now my mouse is very unresponsive. The warning keeps popping up telling me my signal strength is low so I changed the batteries but it still is doing the same thing?
    Thanks

might be a bad driver. i suggest install any software they include with your old mouse, then restart and connect the mouse when your about to restart, disconnecting the old mouse. hopefully this will do it. Cause in the event log, it shows error for loading a file.

Did you check your Device Manager to see if the mouse entry has an exclamation point surrounded by a yellow field. This is what happened to me with a MS Explorer USB/PS/2 Intellimouse. I finally plugged it back into the PS/2 port as I was getting the same Event Log Error as you are getting.

Yeah .. I looked in Device Manager and no yellow esclamation point?

That would stink if I had to put it back to ps/2 but will try and see if that corrects it this weekend.

I think she's mad at me cause she knows her day's are numbered :)
