Win XP home SP2. New users that are created as limited get the following error screens when they log on; Error 'The handle is invalid'. Click OK on that error and it repeats the same error. OK on the second error screen and I get an error screen; VBIOS 'Flash_MMIO_Map DeviceToControl error'. Click OK on that screen and it repeats the same error again. Click OK on that error and then everything seems to run as expected.
If I change the user from limited to computer administrator, then I get no errors when logging on as that user.
How do I correct this or is this normal operation?

This is a new PC with a new install of Win XP home SP2. I took the default of typical install when I installed XP home. I have a total of about 3 days experience with XP and I have no idea of where to start looking for the cause of these errors. However, I have ordered a book; MS Windows XP inside and out, second edition.
I only have Win XP and a security suite installed so far. So if I need to reinstall Win to correct the above errors, now is the time.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

    PeteC, Thanks for the reply.
    Yes, it is a MSI motherboard, MSI K8N Neo4 NF4 socket 939.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't XP home a 32 bit operating system. I thought that XP pro was the only OS that came with a choice of 64 bit. Does this mean that I have something messed up in the BIOS? There were a lot of questions in the BIOS that I did not understand. For example, under advanced BIOS features, 'Boot to OS/2'. I selected NO. I don't see anything in the BIOS that specifically states 64 bit or 32 bit operating system, but it may be there under a different term/name.

My comment was perhaps not as clear as it might have been ....
    - not the problem here meaning you have Home which, as you rightly say is 32 bit.

This would appear to be a problem with the MSI motherboard drivers or the video bios (VBIOS), but why it should occur only in limited accounts I do not know.

I have edited your thread title to be even more specific.
