    Greetings all,

Need some help with a blue screen error. The error is:

    Error: OE 017F BFF8E64B

    My particulars are:

    Dell Dimension 4100
    Intel III @ 1G
    512 Memory

I recieved this error starting about a week ago when I upgraded from 256 to 512, so I presume this is a memory error. Both Crucial and Dell have assured me that this puter would accept the additional memory with no problem. Need advice please.

Put original memory back in, and or remove new memory!

    Problem gone!

    Bad memory!!!

Hey Mike - thanks for the speedy reply.

The original 256 is still in the puter, the new memory I'm 100% sure is not bad. Could there be a problem with the old memory?

I would not be so sure but I have only been in this business for 25 years!

Take out the new memory for long enough to see if problem still exists!

If it don't exist any more then put the new back in and remove the old.

    Now you have to possibilities!

    1. No problem with only new memory. Then mismatch between old and new! They will not work togather.

    2. Same problem with only new memory, then just be glad you did not bet anything on this being good memory!
