Hi, Every time i close down my pc i get the error dwwin.exe DLL initialization failed. Sometimes i have to close down the superantispyware program because it isn't responding anymore, by closing down. When i start up my pc i get an error of the filehippo update checker.exe. What can be done about it? Thanks!

I have only two suggestions right now:

    1. Uninstall HiYo and FileHippo.com Update Checker

    2. Update MSN messenger

    Hi Arie,
I did the messenger update but i can't uninstall the hiyo. The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. The installation source for this product is not available. Ensure that the source exists and that you have access. I disables the file hippo update checker in starting up programs.

    bootable cd

It's not all very clear to me. I just made a bootable cd, made a copy to C:\XP-SP3. Then i have to click on start, run, and at last i have to type cmd and press enter, right? From there on it's not very clear to me what to do. Sorry!

The instructions on the page are clear. Follow them step-by-step.

    i386

I could run the instructions, but some of the files weren't in an i386, ia64 or nec98map. So i couldn't make a cd. What can i do next?

Sorry, but that doesn't tell me anything.

Nowhere on my page I talk about i386, ia64 or nec98map, so you may need to clarify.

Boot with the CD in your drive. You may have to make sure your computer actually boots off the CD.

    1. Start your computer (with the Windows XP CD in your computer's CD drive or DVD drive)
    2. Watch for a Press any key to boot from CD... message, and press any key on your keyboard when you see that message
    3. On the Welcome to Setup, press Enter to continue with the setup
    4. Press F8 to confirm that you agree with the Licensing Agreement
    5. Select your Windows XP Installation listed on screen and press Esc to continue
    6. Delete the Existing Windows XP Partition (you'll have to press Enter to confirm the deletion)
    7. With the Unregistered space press Enter to create a new partition & start the installation

After the installation completes, you may have to reinstall your motherboard drivers (including chip-set, sound and network drivers) and start updating other drivers & additional Windows Updates.

Don't forget to get virus protection, I'd recommend Microsoft Security Essentials

    bootable cd

I did a recovery of the OS XP. All went well and the dwwin is gone. I did have some other errors but at this moment i don't have them anymore but one. The superantispyware, i have to close it down by hand. But that's not a big problem. So for now everything is working well. An other problem is the hardware. I put more memory in it, 1GB, but it's not working. It works with 0.75GB. Maybe i should start a new topic?
    Thanks!:)
