Error occurred reading the start up confi. file in Netscape

    With no warning I began to receive an error mess. Line 135: Syntaxerror: Unterminated string literal user_Pref ( "mail.i

    When I open Netscape 7.2

    Please help

    You seem to have an error in your prefs.js file, line 135. Depending on the contents of that line, you may be able to delete that single line...

    Of course, backing up your prefs.js file before doing anything is recommended.

    Or, tell us what the line is. Or look at the contents of Pref_js, opening with Notepad. You may able to edit the line, if Netscape had a permanent mental lapse. It says, (mail.i , so it must be related to something in Mail. You may be able to browse the Web, but have problems in mail. And, to be precise mail.identity. You may want to count the lines, and see if there is any contradiction. I have several accounts, and I see neither rhyme nor reason with all those identity entries.
    If this works, it may be the second time that I have been able to post from AOL.
