I love XP. I really love XP w/SP2. I love that I can "go back ", if there's a problem. The firewall, etc.; all good.
However, in another world I'd be a Mac user for this one reason: the "Error Notice ". I finally got one and don't know how to get rid of it. Here's what it says:

"The instruction "0x7c93426d" references memory at "0x00000000 ". The memory could not be "read ". Click OK to terminate the program. Click Cancel to Debug the program.

Needless to say, nothing happens when I click either. It appears every time I boot up. Can anyone help me get rid of it? (I had to live with an "F-1" boot-up requirement on my old W98 machine, which I could never remove.) I've used System Restore to no avail.

You have some program that isn't playing fair with others. Go to Start > Run > type MSCONFIG > press enter > click the Start Up tab > temporarily untag some of the programs that are listed there. Keep dropping them and testing for effect until the problem disappears. Put them back one at a time to isolate the offender. When found, uninstall it and reinstall to see if it straightens out. If not, check for an updated version.
