When I try to install the latest upgrade for IE6, after rebooting I get the error message 'Windows could not upgrade the file %1 from %2'. Then installation fails. I tried searching the Microsoft Knowledge Base but the solution offered - renaming the wininit.ini file - did not work because that file cannot be found.

doveton - Welcome to the Board :)

The MS fix you mention is for Me only - is this what you are running?

    Problem Resolved

Thanks for that. The problem has been resolved. I am not sure whether using RUN scanreg /fix did it or disabling System Restore.
