I have a client that I have to scan checks for. When I go to the secure site to use the check scanner, it will not allow it to copy the image. The bottom left corner of my screen has a shield with and exclamation mark and it says error.. Can someone help me. Do I need to change a security setting?

Hi and welcome to the WindowsBBS community.

Is there any more information than "error "?

Please tell us (a lot) more information about what you are doing. I am having trouble trying to imagine what is being done. Tell us about the program/s you are using.

It might just be a matter of locating the executable (.exe) file for the program, right-clicking on it and selecting "Run as administrator ".

    More info on error message

I have an EC7000i check scanner. I make deposits from clients using this machine. However when I run the checks through, it wont take the image. It will read the micro line on the check, but not take the image. On the screen it says on the bottom left corner a little shield with done/ with errors? So I cant process any payments. I run Windows Vista, I think I might have a security setting wrong. I have called the bank, and they have no clue..

I found some information (troubleshooting) for the scanner, but I was mainly trying to find out how it works

There doesn't seem to be anything related to your problem.

"Done, but with errors..." usually relates to scripting errors on a webpage. If you are not using Internet Explorer, try using that.

You may have to upgrade your JAVA. Run Windows Updates and look through them if you don't want to get them all. Get any for JAVA.

Go to the bank's website and look for Support information/FAQS and the System Requirements for their website. It might tell you there.

If you are still stuck, I suggest you get Sun JAVA (or upgrade it if you already have it) www.java.com . If you need to select a download for it, get the Runtime Environment (RE).

PS I have dealt with some bank websites where I needed to downgrade JAVA.

Your browser is likely throwing out a Javascript error. Double click the error icon to see the details of it.

To clarify, get updates related to Javascript and Scripting, nof JAVA.

MS doesn't make any JAVA packages. Get JAVA from Oracle (they own Sun).

    JAVA is not Javascript.
