I have downloaded the new Netscape 7.1 and everything seems to be working fine except every time I exit (clicking
the X in the upper right hand corner) I get this message:

    Netscp.exe Application Error

The instruction at 0x02d14c30 referenced memory at "0x0015c55c ". The memory could not be "read ".

Click on OK to terminate the program.

Can this be corrected somehow??? Thanks.

    Hi Ann,

In your case, I would reinstall Netscape. You don't have to touch your Profile, as it will remain intact.

    Uninstall through the Add/Remove applet.
Backup the plugins folder, or move it to another folder.
    Delete the Netscape\Netscape Folder
Go to the C:\WINDOWS\temp folder, and remove all files.

    REBOOT

Now reinstall 7.1, and hopefully your error will not recur.

Let us know if this resolves the issue.

    Hi Ann,

    Well phooey!

I've found references to Netscp.exe Application Errors, but can't pinpoint any on exiting Netscape. Most are related to JavaScript, Mail, XPCOM, etc.

What are you doing just prior to the exit error? Have you by chance just closed your Mail component? Have you been consistently viewing any page just before exiting?

Let me know, so I can continue searching for this elusive issue.

    Thanks!

    Ramona :D
