Error message of fustration.

For about Two years I have downloaded media files such as movies, music, and computer game demos from the web. Most of the music and movies(But not all) have worked but almost all of the computer game demos and some of the music and movies would download and would appear on my desktop--upon double clicking on it the following error message would come up--
"C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\hluplink.exe is not a valid Win32 application." I have no idea how to solve this problem. Please help.

I have windows 98 as an OS and Netscape as a main browser.

I don't know if it will help, but you may want to poke around at this Half Life site for any answers. Maybe you need to download a newer version of the program.

Some time ago I experienced similiar problems and discovered that download accelerator was the cause. You may also be using a download boost program, try disabling ,and download one program that you know you had problems with.If it works than you know what to do. I do not know what causes the problem with download accelerators,although some sites warn to disable these utilities before downloading, so obviosly there is an issue.
