error message! DW error in DW.EXE

My Son is running windows Me Pent.4 At start up this message is always displayed.........DW has caused an error in DW.EXE
Could you please tell me how to get rid of that!

It sounds like you may have installed KaZaA on your drive. dw.exe is just one of the little malwares programs that is hidden in it.

Uninstall it and then use AdAware and SpyBot to clean up all spyware it left behind. It may also be advisable to clean the Registry with some program like RegCleaner (not RegClean).

Then if you still want KaZaA get the Lite version, it's spyware free.

 

DW stands for Download Ware msot of the time. Download and run adaware to rid yourself of the spyware. By any chance does he have Kazaa rahter than the lite version?
