error message C00D1179

    I am trying to use my philips mp3 player for the first time.
    I am running windows media player 10.(Philips says no other version is suitable for my device).

    I get error message C00D1179.

    Please help.

    have you tried a different media player?

    Thanks for looking.
    But it doesn't solve the problem.
    I have tried to find solutions through microsoft but they don't have a page on this error code anymore.

    I have found many other people with the same problem and either their solution didn't work for me or they are still having problems.

    Philips has told me that this device has numerous problems with WMP 11 , so i got rid of it and got 10.

    Philips said that 10 is pretty much the only one i can use

    I don't know why you should need to edit the registry.

    Are the files a standard "type ", like .mp3? Try converting them to a different type:
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads32.html

    WMP might work best with .wma, so try "ripping" the files with WMP.

    If you are trying to sync directly from retail media, they may have a security system.
