Error installing xp: sxs.dll:syntex error in manifest or policy

    error: sxs.dll:syntex error in manifest or policy file E:\386\asms\52\msft\windows\net\dxmrtp.man" on line 5.
    error:
    installation failed :E\1386\asms. error message. a components file does not match the verification information pressent in the manifest.
    39 minutes into install.

    Can anyone help please.
