error in kernel 32.dll

Have installed Microsoft Picture It Pubisher 2001. Everytime I close software get a message "PIP CAUSED AN ERROR IN KERNEL 32.DLL. Have tried re-booting, but still reads same after software is closed.

 

I had the same problem when I tried to load a program. It all comes down to the installshield program. There is a fix on the at their site www.installshield.com I searched forever and found it. but it wouldn't help my system. I had to reformat my system. After reading about it I found out that it had something to Norton Antviris. I called help desk and they told me to format my computer.

A format may not have been required.

A re-install of Windows ( overtop ) has a good chance of fixing the case of Versionitus without losing everything and starting over.

At the least it won't work. But sure is well worth the try.

Just be sure that AV checking is not even loaded at startup before the re-install.
