Hi, I have Media Player 11 running on Vista Home Premium, was installed on laptop when I bought it. Everything seems to be working apart from burning CDs.

I can create a burn list and the time remaining on CD drops accordingly but when I press Start Burn I get an error saying Windows encountered a problem. Clicking web help shows error code C00D10DA (original code 80070006) and further information is not available.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

    Thanks

    Hello Sarah,

Do you have any Roxio or Sonic applications running while trying to burn with wmp11? If you do, shut them down.

What kind of files are you trying to burn? There may be DRM issues involved.

From this wmp11 MS troubleshooting article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918218 try registering the following files:

If that doesn't fix the issue:
Re register this .dll file: Run, type regsvr32 wmp.dll and then OK.

    WMP - download new copy?

    Hi Charles,

Thanks for all your help so far - have tried all suggestions registering files but problem still persists :(

I am not running any other programs when trying to burn. The files are .wma (these are discs I ripped onto laptop orginally using WMP). I've chosen slowest burn speed and different discs!!!!!

Since this came preloaded I cannot revert to an earlier version. Should I try and download WMP11?

    Hi Sarah,
You can try, but I doubt it'll work. I think you'll get an already installed message. I'm always open to supprises though :)

Before trying to install it, create a manual System Restore point for yourself.
