    Frequently I run the "Error Checking" Untility on my hard drive. This used to be called Scandisk in the old days.

    To run this I simply right click on my drive letter choose My Computer, choose Properties, and then check the Tools Tab. and finally click on the "Check Now" Button.

    Now for some reason I can no longer get the "Check Now" button to launch the Utility. It simply "bounces" back and nothing will happen?

    I tried closing down all programs running in Start Up and even tried to run the Utility with Safe Mode and still no luck.

    I have also looked in the System 32 Folder for some sort of application that migh launch this utility but don't seem to find anything.

    Any help sure would be appreciated.

    ==========
    Plenty more posts like this can be found doing a "search" in help-nets data base of past posts. [Suggested keyword filters: Checkdisk or scandisk]

    ^Quote cut from the above post^:
    "After posting my querry last night I finally did find the culprit that was causing my "Check Now" button to jut bounce back at me.

    It's Logon Loader http://www.radfiles.com/logonloader/
    which is a little utility that will allow the user to launch a different logonui.exe each time that Windows XP Launches "
