Error 80004005

On some websites I am now getting the following message

"Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'

[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver]Too many connections

/homepage.asp, line 4.

Microsoft support says to locate registry key Hkey_local_Machine\Software\ODBD then says 'On security menu select permissions'. Sorry to be dense but this doesn't make any sense to me, cant see why I 'locate the key' If I don't do anything to it.

Any suggestions on how I can overcome this problem gratefully received.

I think the error you experienced has nothing to do with your computer's software/hardware (unless you are running MySQL on your computer ).

If I understand correctly, MySQL is a "database server" program. Your computer is one of many "clients" (in this case, too many clients). Your computer and too many other computers (clients) were trying to use connections to the website's MySQL server at the same time. Therefore the cause of your problem appears to lie with the website, not your computer.

The only idea I have right now to help remedy the problem is to contact the webmaster(s) of the "[MySQL]...Too many connections" error site(s) you are visiting and discuss the problem with them.
