    Need more information probably.

First check to make sure Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol ports are open on your firewall(s).

    If so,
    - are any other users able to connect?
    - can you ping but just not connect? If so, ping by address only or by name and address?
    - how are you resolving name to IP address?
    - what operating systems are involved?
    - Domain?

Well - I haven't helped yet. Hope to but so far not. So, a few more questions - but in English or with an explanation in English.

    1. Is the connection to your work network? If so, did someone assign you a username & password to use on the network? And do you use a PC at work in addition to trying to dial in from home?
    2. Are you using a firewall on your PC?
    3. Are you trying to connect to a name (like someserver or someserver.com) or to an IP address (like 177.29.104.16)?
    4. Do you use the internet from this same PC?

    1. The connection is to my work network. I do have a user name and password. I do all of my work from home so I don't use a pc at the whse.
We did try to put in someone elses username and password just to see if that would help and I got the same message.

    2. I don't think I have a firewall but I'm not sure.

    3. I connect to an IP address and we did check to make sure it is right.

    4. Yes I do use the internet from this same pc. In order to connect to the network, I have to be connected to the internet.
    I'm on AOL 8.0.

But now check this out. I have 2 different screen names one is mine and one is my hubbies. It seems that for some reason, yesterday, I tried to log onto my screen name and then connect to the vpn, and it didn't work, then I went to the other screen name and it let me connect to my vpn. Today, it let me connect to the vpn on my screen name. I bet tomorrow I won't be able to connect with my screen name. Maybe that will tip you off on what the prob. might be.
    Thanks.
