Happy Holiday to everyone here in the U.S.
I searched for the topic Error 1327 Invalid Drive Win7 and did find 2 occurences in the WinXP forum; some of the fixes were similar however I still have an issue and will describe the symptoms and what I've attempted to do to fix:
    1. wanted to use Adobe Premiere Elements V8
    2. wasn't working and attempted to uninstall/reinstall
    3. received the Error 1327 Invalid Drive [E:]
    4. looked at the registry
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

No indication of drive letter E:\ in any of the shell settings
    5. next
    a. ran cmd as admin [my user is admin anyway]
    b. ran subst e: "C:\Windows " that command allowed the install to proceed untill it asked for Version 7 CD.
    c. never installed or used version 7 -went from V6 to V8

I plan on asking Adobe how to proceed but I thought I'd ask here first. This group has been my computing lifeline for years. thank in advance for any ideas. happy 4th. Barb

Thank you. The link that you sent includes instructions [subst e: "C:\Windows"] I've already done and registry keys I've checked. I also did the MS Fix It...except when the error page from which I originated was for Error 1327 and landing page for MS Fix it was Error 1606. tried it anyway with no success.

Also following the links for CS4 & 5 are different than the error I'm getting.

    thaks again.

I think it may be advantageous to post on the Adobe Forums - I think you will have a better chance of a solution there.
