    Hi,

When am printing with the Epson RX420 from the Photosuite software (PHOTOSUITE SE 1.06) the printer is only found on the first printing job, if I try to print another photo a message appears "A printer must be install" and as I have another printer on the system it cannot find that one either. I have to close the Photosuite program and restart it to find the printer. The other printer I have installed is a Epson C60 and when using this printer with the Photosuite program I have no problems.

Saying that, can anyone shed light on this one? What ever printer I use even ones I had before when printing photos from this software it did not matter what size you made the photo it always printed the first one very small and only printed the required size on the second print. This is a waste when I am using photo paper because I loose the first sheet and waste ink. Also you can now see the problem with the RX420, for when you cancel the first sheet to print the second, the printer is not found.

    Neilmac, what version of Windows?

Have you checked at the Epson website for updated drivers?

The drivers for the two printers may run on different versions of the same files. You may need to remove both in the Printers folder (and any old printers that may be there) and install updated drivers for both from the Epson website. It may even depend on which set of drivers is installed first or second.

The other thing I would consider is the spooler. Search for spooler at the MS KB for your version of Windows:
    http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1
See if any descriptions match your problems.
Also search for Epson, I saw specific (Epson) printer problems mentioned on a search I did the other day.

Can the first small print be of some sort of a "preview" (Edit: sounds like a default) rather than the sized setting you want. Are there other ways to select Print? In Word, I always go to File -> Print rather than just clicking the Print button. Is there an actual Print Preview selection so that you can see what it will print like?

    Matt
