Epson C84 Printer

    I'm having problems with the colour. Black and Blue work fine but Cayan & Yellow are non-existent - just a faded black. I have cleaned the heads numerous times - in fact I've used 3/4 of the ink just testing and cleaning.

    I think the problem started by my using a generic black cartridge and it leaked. I now have all original Epson cartridges.

    Is there anyway of cleaning the ink section of the printer other than the head cleaning software ???

    After letting the "windex" sit overnight, I came into the office this morning expecting it to work, alas it was no different than before. I've repeated the operation and will check out in an hour.

    Any chance of any other ideas ??? I hate to dump the printer as I have already purchased several cartridges for it.

    This piece of software was recommended by the digital imaging group I belong to ....

    SSC Service Utility for Epson Stylus Printers

    It originates in Russia and claims to give a more rigorous clean than Epson. I tried it on my 1270 which was - and still is - suffering from a blocked jet without success. Worth giving it a try - nothing to lose :)
    Buy another C84 if they are still available or a current model which takes the same cartridges.
