I am trying to write a conversion spreadsheet so that I can quickly reference conversion relating to a project I am working on.

I have the width of the location: 16.5km
I have the length of the location: 11.5km
I have the usable area of the location: 13km2

I have entered those figures into my spreadsheet, but cannot get the km2 to input correctly. I have tried just entering 132^2 and I have tried =132^2. I first attempt only displayed what I entered (I am assuming as text); the second gave me the square root of 132. I need to enter 132km2 as the cells value, so that I can have the rest of the spreadsheet convert those values to miles, feet and inches.

Is this possible; should be in my opinion; I just don't seem to be able to figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

When I type in these six characters:
    =132^2
into a cell in Excel, and then press [Enter], Excel displays:
    17424
    which is correct.

If I type in these ten characters:
    =sqrt(132)
into a cell in Excel, and then press [Enter], Excel displays:
    11.48912
    which is also correct.
