For no apparent reason I started getting a message that TBird could not save sent messages. It suggested that I empty trash and compact folders which I did, however the problem still remained. I ran Symatic Disk Doctor and it found and fixed a file allociation error "\thunderbird\profiles\?0rxc71f.default\Mail\mail\ipass.ipass.net\Sent
    Status: size adjusted. "
When I opened my sent box nothing was there. I archive every month or so but had not archived last month or July to date. Can I recover my saved copies?

    lgbest,

Have you checked the Mail Account on your HD, and do you see messages in the Sent folder, the folder without an MSF extension?

If there are messages in the Sent file, then exit Thunderbird, Open Windows Explorer, and delete the Sent.msf file.

Open Thunderbird and see if the Sent messages are viewable.

    empty sent files

Hi Ramona - I checked and there are only 179kb in the file. What next? Did Disk doctor permanently delete the files by adjusting the size and why was that necessary in the first place. do we have a bug? I ran 3 antivirus programs and there was nothing amiss.
