Please help. Have received an email attachment that is listed as .eml and I can't find a program to open this photo attachment. When I checked properties it says it is a jpeg, but none of the photo programs I have will open it. It also said that this does not have a program associated with it and to do to folder options and create one. Ya right, how do and what do I do to get this done? :(

Files of the eml type are email files. They should be associated with whatever program you use for email. Try opening the attachment with your email program. If there's a picture in it you should be able to save it from there if you want.

I am working in the outlook express email program and when I click to open attachment it gives me that following: "this file does not havea program associated with it for preforming this action. Create an association in folder options control panel" When I looked in control panel, folder options I haven't a clue what to do from then on. Does this clear up anything?

In the folder options applet click on the file types tab. Click the new button and in the file extension box type eml. Then click ok. Now look in the file types list for the eml extension you just created. Click on it to highlight it and then click the advanced button. In the window that opens click the new button, and in the action box type Open. Then where it says "application used to perform this action" copy and paste the following line in the box.

    "c:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /eml:%1

If your OE is installed on a drive other than the c: drive you'll have to change the path to it accordingly. Once you've done that you can put a checkmark in the box next to Use DDE. Under that, in the box where it says application, type msimn. Where it says topic, type System. Then click ok until your out of it all and then try opening the file in OE.

I probably should add here that you should do this with OE closed.
