Emergency Repair Disk

I have a quick question.
Windows 2000 Professional.
I currently backup to a dds4 tape. Assuming I create an emergency repair disk and boot back to this disk in the event of a system failure, will I be able format the drive and restore from the tape.
In other words does the ERD have support for the tape drive and ntbackup?

ERDs were useful with NT3.x and NT4. With 2K since the registry is too large to fit and isn't stored, I have found them to be next to useless for any purpose I could imagine and have quit making them.

Best of Breed in my opinion but not cheap. One feature allows you to create an emergency repair CD that is bootable and contains enough of your OS (yours) to let you work.
