    I am using Outlook Express.
After switching to the !NEW AND IMPROVED! Cox high-speed Internet service, I can no longer embed .jpg files into my outgoing e-mails. Can still embed .gif files...I have checked the Outlook Express Help section and all my settings appear to be correct.

    Any help?

    Thanks in advance!

Sorry! Should have been explicit. I am using Outlook Express 5.5 and it has all the updates.

When I try to embed a .jpg into an e-mail, instead of the .jpg there is a little translucent square with a reddish dot in the middle.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

I have seen this occur if you dont have the path to the photo correct. Especially if its a web based photo, like yahoo photo album. Run a test. Compose new mail, insert photo. When you get the square with red dot. Right click on it, then properties. That should show the path to the photo. If its to a web based photo, it will show the url of the web page. The way around that is to right click on the photo, properties, copy, paste the url and the photo should appear. Post back good or bad.

    Hey there Aleekat,
Thanks for responding. I was trying to embed a picture that resides on my physically separate "D" drive - clicked on the Properties of the absent image - the path was correct.

I then found a jpeg on my "C" drive and that embedded just fine.

Apparently Outlook Express is not recognizing my D drive?

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Bruce
