Emails in INbox there but not showing

    HI
    im using OE 6

    and problem i have after reading some threads before posting is:

    all of a sudden my inbox emails are empty

    i have looked for back ups and there is only 1 inbox.dbx and its 58mb
    this is the one and its in the the right outlook folder.

    they are there as i have used dbxtract software and can view each one no probs but i really wnat them to show all back up in my oulook express inboxe when i start up??

    all other files and emails are ok?

    any one help please?

    spytron - Welcome to the Board :)

    I suspect your Inbox is corrupted and although the 'official' limit to .dbx files is 2 Gb OE can play funny long before then.

    The first step you should take is to make a copy of Inbox.dbx and store it elsewhere on your drive for safety. In the event that further problems arise in trying to correct this you at least have a backup copy.

    Then read this MS KB article ....

    All e-mail items may be missing when you start Outlook Express 6.0 Service Pack 1 or Outlook Express 6.0 Service Pack 2

    The most likely solution would be to extract the mails from Inbox.dbx using DbExtract which will save to a text file I think - haven't used it in years and then, with OE closed, delete Inbox.dbx. OE will recreate it the next time it is opened.
