When trying to download email I get an error message "could not connect to server incoming.verizon.net, connection was refused ".
Same thing happens on the outgoing.
DSL connection is okay-I can get on web. Another CPU on same DSL is working ok with NS mail, so I do not think is a Verizon problem.
I do not think anything was changed in setups. It just stopped working in mid day.

    ralphmli,

First, ensure that your mail settings are correct, verify them with the information on the Verizon site. Check for typo's, etc.

Next: try disabling your antivirus email protection/scanning temporarily.

If still no joy, disable your Firewall temporarily.

If your PC's are networked, is there any problem having both PC's online at the same time?

This really sounds more like a server problem, but hard to say for certain. If so, hopefully it will be temporary. I'll see what else I can find on the Verizon DSL sites tomorrow, or rather today, but much, much, later today...

    Email Server Connect Problem

I rechecked all settings - all ok.
I shutdown NS and reopened - no change.
I contacted Verizon and they claimed no server problems; also verified since my other CPU worked ok. They also went through the setup.
I shutdown the system overnight and when I rebooted this am, it works ok.
As I think about what happened yesterday that "changed" things, I remembered that there were some automatic MS Windows updates that I noticed sometime during the day. They did not require a reboot so I had to take no action. This is the only thing that seems possible to have effected NS. I did not think of that yesterday or else I would have tried a reboot before I posted.
    THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE !!
