Using Win98, Netscape 7.02. RoadRunner as ISP, but using Netscape Webmail for email. For last couple of months when sending email via Webmail it intermittently fails to get to the recipiant. No error messages. I have been adding BCC to my RoadRunner address. Only receiving the BCC 50% of the time. If I see the email was not received, I move it from Webmail's sent folder to draft, resend it and it usually will go OK. Just upgraded to Netscape 7.02, but was failing on 7.0 as well.

    Welcome to the Forum, cliffsmith!

    Hi cliffsmith,

I don't use Netscape Webmail, but these are some of the workarounds I have collected for problems such as yours:

    In Netscape Preferences:
Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | Copies and Folders
Choose to put sent items in the "Sent" folder in your POP3 Account.

    Other settings to check:
If you have enabled "Empty Trash on Exit" disable that function.

Check the Properties | File Attributes of your Sent folder, and be certain that it is not marked "Read Only ".

Let us know if you continue to have problems.

    Cliff,
let me get this straight. It appeared to me that you were posting from the website, but now, I am pretty sure that you are using Webmail, set up in Netscape Mail.
Webmail set up in Netscape Mail has caused me all sort of problems, but not the one which you describe.
If it is set up in Netscape Mail, which SMTP are you using. I have Cox, and it will send anything, and more efficiently that the smtp of the account.
So, could you send with the Roadrunner SMTP?
All bets are off if you use the Website.

Thanks Ramona and Westside for your time. The sent mail that intermittently fails to deliver is Netscape's free email. The failing email does get put into the "sent" folder for Netscape's mail (Not the POP3 account.)
SMTP-server is the setting for the outgoing mail sever in the RoadRunner network.
I guess what I was really looking for was other folks experiencing this problem . The free Netscape email has been working for 2 years. No configuration or other changes were made to the system prior to the failure now experienced.
    Thanks again,
    Cliff
