email program to download for a netbook?

    I'm new to this forum and not very expereinced in operating systems, etc. so please pardon me if this is in the wrong discusson area or if I use incorrect terminology.
    I just got a new netbook (Eee PC) and it does not have an email program installed. I use outlook at work and have in the past used the equivalent mac program, outlook express and also netscape ages ago.
    I am hoping to find a free or low cost email program online to download and would like to be able to receive both gmail and hotmail into the same program (different 'inboxes'?).
    Any advice or recommendations?

    Guessing that you're using Windows 7 - cause all other Operating Systems have an email app.
