We have our own Exchange Server. Sometime recently, most emails we get sent to us dont get here, however some do. Others just get lost in space. Additonally, every email we try to send out has this message on it:

There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.
<mydomain.com #5.5.0 smtp;553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)>

    Any suggestions?

I don't run Exchange, but these error codes are the same regardles...

The error, "553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1) ", means that you are trying to send email using the wrong smtp server.

The SMTP server that you use to send email is not determined by who hosts your email, but rather is a service of your Internet connection provider. All ISP's provide their customers with SMTP servers, regardless of their email address. These days most ISP's will not allow you to use another SMTP server to send out email (anti-spam measure).

If you can configure your (Exchange) SMTP server to listen to a different port (587), you might be able to bypass your ISP's block on port 25.

The only other option for this situation is to change the SMTP server in the mail client to match the one provided by your ISP.
