Email Migration From Netscape 7.1 to Outlook

I currently use Netscape 7.1 for email on my Windows Machine running XP Pro. I'd like to migrate this email over to Outlook or Outlook Express.

They work most of the way, but here is my problem:

-I downloaded and installed Netscape 4.7 and ran it to create a default profile.
-I went in and deleted all the .snm files from the new profile folder.
-I then copied my mail files (no extension) from my netscape 7.1 profile to the new netscape 4.7 profile, replacing duplicates. (Inbox, Sent, etc.)
-I opened Netscape 4.7 Messenger. It indexed and loaded the Inbox fine. However, all the other folders are empty. I creates the folder structure I had, complete with all subfolders, but does not show any messages. Then when I import from 4.7 to outlook express, all the folders are there, but they are empty.

Any ideas why it would work for the inbox and not the other folders? The ONLY thing I can think of is the inbox had "unread" messages, while the other folders did not.

Hi David,

From reading your post, this is what I see:
It isn't necessary to delete the SNM files in Communicator before copying the Netscape 7 Mail files over.
Did you open the Communicator mail folders at least once, in order to create the index files (SNM)? You should do this before importing the files to OE/Outlook.

Also, did you copy the SBD Folders from Netscape 7 to Communicator? They contain all your subfolders which you created.

You might want to start fresh...
