    I just been getting some "undeleiverable" email on my inbox. I know I didn't send all of this junk! What's going on? Do I have a virus in my email, sending out email from my address? I have Norton antiVirus, current with the updates! Please help!!! I'm using Netscape 7.1 email, and win98.

    "Undelivered Mail" is just another method for spammers, etc. You didn't send it, don't worry about it. To be reassured, run an online scan, Trendmicro.com has a free one.

    I'm glad I read this post before posting mine this early mon. morning.I have gotten several failure notices and "mail delivery failed, returning msg to sender" the last couple days.

    Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mail.soka.ac.jp.
    I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
    This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

    <rptaylor@s.soka.ac.jp>:
    Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

    <boetcher@s.soka.ac.jp>:
    Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

    <boff@s.soka.ac.jp>:
    Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

    <bogdana@s.soka.ac.jp>:
    Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

    <gjansen@s.soka.ac.jp>:
    Sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.1.1)

    Or this one "
    |------------------------- Failed addresses follow: ---------------------|
    <k-h.scholz.lebenskuenstler@t-online.at>
    unknown user / Teilnehmer existiert nicht
    <k-h.schoon@t-online.at>
    unknown user / Teilnehmer existiert nicht
    <k-h_wolf@t-online.at>
    unknown user / Teilnehmer existiert nicht
    <k-hbraun@t-online.at>

    The second one seems to be involved in prescriptions of some kind.

    Do I need an anti spam program, or just keep deleting them?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    neil - I'd suggest just deleting them. The flood should subside soon.

    If you use a spam blocker, you might well be blocking delivery notices you would want to see. A friend has a full inbox on his/her server, someone has changed addresses and forgotten to let you know, or similar issues.

    I wish there were a spam blocker smart enough to accept a rule, "if I didn't send it, don't tell me when it isn't delivered ". If there is such a critter, I've not heard about it.

    Thanks Newt:

    I ran McAfee and the free trend micro. Both came up negative.

    I received several of those e-mails today and THEY WERE DELETED right off of the server VIA MAILWASHER.

    That is no 100% protection but it sure as hello HELPS.

    My Wife had some also which were treated the same way.

    HINT. HINT. HINT
