    There has been quite alot of questioning whether various AV programs adequately scan email attachments, and I have recommended using eTrust EZ Armor. From the EZ AV help section;

    eTrust EZ Antivirus’s Real-Time protection checks and cleans any infected e-mail attachments when you open them. You can also Save the attachment to the hard disk and scan it using the main eTrust EZ Antivirus program. To check that Real-Time protection is enabled, move the pointer over the eTrust EZ Antivirus symbol in the system tray (located in the bottom right of the taskbar near the clock).

    This real-time protection monitors any files being put on your system, including file transfers from instant messaging programs.

    The EZ Firewall also has email protection. Dubbed Mailsafe, it's description is as follows;

    Mailsafe protects your computer from incoming e-mail attachments that may contain malicious code or viruses. Mailsafe quarantines these attachments, preventing them from running without your permission.

    A second layer of protection, with one security package. I encourage everyone to read the pinned thread Shield your PC against cyberattacks......, if you haven't already, and take advantage of the free offer for eTrust EZ Armor. If you don't like it, dump it. It cost you nothing.

    I use eTrust and it's stopped some nasties from getting on my machine. Back in my Outlook Express days, it stopped Klez a bunch of times.
