I hope I am posting this in the right place, but I have something in my registry called Mr. Egnima. I remember deleteing it a while back, but I must have downloaded something that put it back. does anyone know what it is or if it a spyware?

I have two spy cleaner programs that I run everyday and I had to remove two of the Alexas lately but it does not say what program they came with.

also I have something called Fusion in my registry, I thought that was the name of the ATT&T internet service. I have road runner,, should that be in there ?

I was also wondering about an entry in my registry called Ieka, I don't remember that being in there before.

I also have two registry editing programs but they haven't marked them for deletion. I am sorry to ask such long question but I would like to know if I should remove them from my registry. thank You. :)

I forgot to say these things are in Hotkey_Local_machine software.

shortgal10--Assuming you mean Mr. Enigma, it seems harmless (and probably unnecessary).

Concerning "Ieka ", do any of these references look like something you are involved in?
    http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&q=Ieka
Perhaps provide more info on that Registry entry and/or check spelling.
Similarly with "Fusion ". That is a very common word, so searching provides many possibilities. One reference tied into AT&T is
    http://www.wurd.com/pwp_netobjects.php
In general unless you know what you are doing or are having problems, it is best to leave things in the Registry alone. (And if you know what you are doing, you will back up the Registry before making changes.)
P.S. The most common place to get Alexa is from installing MS fixes to IE or repairing IE.

    Hello shortgal,

Get the following tools from here: http://www.windowsbbs.com/links.php

Ad-Aware, install and run (full scan option).

    Spybot, install and run.

HijackThis: Download HijackThis to it's own folder, unzip it, run the executable, save the scan and post it to your thread (copy/paste). This thread may be moved to the Security section.

    Regards - Charles

I made a backup of my registry and deleted Mr. Egnima, and Ieka

here is what is said in the google search

''You need to use a Windows code but don't waste your time. Development
on the IEAK for Mac (and Windows) was given up long ago. I never could
get the damned thing to work right and it's only for Classic OS anyway.''

I got rid of the fusion thing two. I hope I don't need it.

but if I do , I have the backup registry and you are right, I need to stay out of my registry and let my reg edit programs do the work, they cost me enough money. :D
