    Hello
    I need a little help.
I recently reformatted a hard drive that had windows 2000 server on it and installed windows 2000 pro.
After the install and reboot I get a boot menu that gives me an option to pick Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Pro.
Of course, Windows 2000 Server is not on the harddrive.
I want to delete this boot menu and have it go right into Windows 2000 Pro.
    Please help if you can!!!
    Thanks in advance!!!:)

    Hey,
There is a hidden file on the C drive called boot.ini. Open this file in notepad and REM or delete the line to do with the win 2K server. That line and the line for the W2K pro will probably look the same except for the description in quotes. (multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINNT) only for example, not sure how you are partitioned. You could also modify the default= line to go right to the W2K pro and then set the timeout=30 to 1 . You will still see the screen but it will jump right away to your pro. Dont just delete this file and make a backup ( just in case)

    start
    settings
    control panel
    system - advanced tab
    startup and recovery tab

where it says system startup, unclick the box that says "display list of OS for ** seconds." and make sure the OS (win2k pro in this case) is selected in the drop down menu above.

    Hope that helps.

Yep, view the contents of the boot.ini file and remove the entire line that references Windows 2000 Server. When there is only one OS listed in the boot menu, your system will not display the menu at all and it will boot to the only OS installed.
