I've been a long, long time Netscape user, primarily for security reasons and familiarity. But now that the latest NS Browser has dropped an intregated E-mail, I am seriously considering making the switch to IE and Outook Express.

I seem to have been able to get my "favorites" over to IE, and after a bit will problably get up to speed using it. OE, on the other hand, is a bit scary for me to take the punch.

I don't want to lose my address books (I have several) or my folders and messages. Is there a sure fire, easy way to get the job done?

I'd appreciate any comments on the positives and the negatives of making this (to me, at least) change and what differences I might see.

In theory, yes, but I have never had occasion to do it as I have never used Netscape in any form.

Back up your messages and address books from Netscape.

In OE go File > Import and select Other Address Book - point the wizard to the backup you made. I am not sure how OE will handle the import of multiple Address Books as basically it uses just one. They may be merged or the last one imported may overwrite the one already there. Working on a backup should not impinge on Netscape. Look under OE Help > Import for more info.

Do the same for messages - File > Import > Messages

IMO - OE is the simplest, most effective and most intuitive mailer around for those not requiring the complexities of Outlook.
