I have a new PC but have the hard drive from the old failed machine installed as an extra drive (F); I have copied "My Docs" from F to the C drive of the new machine, which has successfully introduced my calendar ad contacts into MS Office Outlook 2010 which I have installed for the purpose.
But I now have three sets of e-mail folders. One labelled just <Outlook> is the records from my old machine "“ sent box, and a couple of special folders ; new mail is being sent from, and received in a second set of folders headed <Outlook Data File> . However, in this second set , newly composed messages remain on show in the Outbox even after they are sent "“ meaning that I only know they have been sent when I actually get a response. There is also a third set of folders headed with my e-mail address as the name of the set.
I want to get back to one set of folders, and I want sent messages to disappear from the outbox when sent .
Any suggestions for how I can do these things, please ?

Aha, I solved that one myself ; it seems that the latest version of Windows7 ( Home Premium) has a different Control Panel, with a line for "Mail;" where all the different Outlook etc versions are spelled out, and changing the default, and deleting the unwanted ones, did the trick. Bingo. Resolved.
