E-mail from my address ?

Hi

Am hoping someone might have some insight on this...

I recieved a e-mail from my e-mail address, and it was sent to my e-mail address... all it was in the letter was four numbers...

I didn't send this to myself....

what do you make of this ???

Do not open it! Delete it immediately. I received one this morning with the number 557 in the subject line. Using properties I found it was from an IP address (211.169.139.35) that Sam Spade popped up an aborted warning. It contained a 1KB html tag. When I went to block it my email address showed as the one to be blocked instead of xxxxxxxxxxxxx at sumindmob dot com.

I got 4 numbers... 5556 ..

 

Maybe you were the 5556th. person to receive it? I think that if you open it sends back a reply that your address is real and active. Further spam or worse could then be sent to you. I know there is a new keylogger going around that is a hard pest to remove, so watch out for any strange emails.

 

I use a Program called MailWasher Pro to pre-screen the mail.

It just shows what is available but does not download anything. Your regular e-mail program will do that.

I look over the list and anything that even looks suspicious or I have no idea where it is from gets DELETED off of the server right there.

I deleted about 12 items earlier today. I just looked again and there were 10 more. ( 9 got deleted )
