I'm tired of dealing with T'bird. I tried upgrading to ver 3 a few days ago, and haven't seen my old e-mail folders since. I've tried dealing with them over their forum over the course of 5 to-&-fros, and I've yet to have solved the problem.

So, PLEASE don't ask me to diagnose the problem any further. I just want someone to give me a good example of a local e-mail client (Eudora, whatever) that I can take T'bird's format (I think it's .eml) and EASILY...EASILY convert them to another format. Mind you, while I've backed up the old e-mails to another partition, they are NOT showing up AT ALL when I open T'bird. That's ALL I want to say about T'bird. If you don't have any NEW client suggestions, that's fine, but PLEASE don't go down the diagnosis road.

THANK YOU for any gracious help,
    GPLea

Your Mail folders are in the Profile, and it should work fine with TB2.0.x. You are listing 2.0.0.23. Did you uninstall it, or I had created a separate Profile for TB3.0, so I did not have to be concerned with seeing my mail. And, I am keeping both 2.0.0.x and 3.0, installed in separate folders. I, vaguely, remember seeing that the data from 2.x had to be imported to 3, somehow. Did you see it?
TB format is not .eml. That is the format used by Microsoft mail. Since I did not have to set up 3.0, I cannot give any suggestion.
Are kidding by saying EASILY? But did you do anything to get mail into 3.0? Do you see any Accounts listed? But, if you want a simple solution, I may as well stop here. I am not good at guessing.
To me, a solution would be to uninstall 3.0, and reinstall 2.0.0.23. The latter should pick up its profile. Also the Thunderbird website says:
    Your Profile should be in: C:\Documents and Settings\user_name \Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\ probably xxxxx.default
