Does anyone have any idea what this means?
It shows up as a "failure" when I run Bootlog Analyzer. Don't know if there's anything I can do to correct the situation or not, but I suppose it would help if I at least had a clue what the message was referring to.
    Thanks!

What problems are you seeing? Or is this just a reported abnormality that has you curious?

Don't know if it's associated with any of my problems, per se, nor do I know if the failure message is recent or not, as I never ran Bootlog Analyzer until last week. I do know that the failure consistently shows up each day now.
I ran RegSeeker and deleted some entries in my registry a week or two ago, and the computer has been running a little off-kilter ever since. My SR stopped functioning at that time, so I was unable to restore to a previous date/time, and even though I tried restoring RegSeeker's backups, the number of entries RegSeeker finds now is some 30 fewer than originally, so it seems like there are some missing entries unaccounted for.
Startup takes over 4 minutes now, and it didn't used to take more than 2. Sometimes I have trouble shutting the computer down - when I click on "shut down ", the system may freeze up (ctrl-alt-del shows a single item: rundll32 not responding), or sometimes I get either a blank blue screen with an arrow (when I do ctrl-alt-del, nothing shows up, not even the usual task manager popup), or a black screen with a flashing cursor, at which time I have to manually shut down the computer, because not even repeated ctrl-alt-del's will set it back into motion.
Anyway, as I said, I don't know if the failure has anything to do with these specific "behaviors" in my computer; I was just trying to see if there might be any obvious links.

I think you should do a real good cleanup of windows, in a way not possible while WinME is running. This will also clean out your SR folder so that it functions again. Boot the computer with a boot floppy, choosing without CDROM support when prompted. Do not choose Command Prompt Only, as the commands will not work so easy.
Note, a couple of these command will appear to do nothing when done correctly.
    smartdrv
    deltree c:\_restore
    deltree c:\windows\cookies
    deltree c:\windows\history
    deltree c:\windows\temp
    deltree c:\windows\tempor~1
    scanreg /opt
    scanreg /fix

Type a Y that you want to delete, check for typos at this time. When you get the message that windows has repaired the registy, take out floppy and reboot.
The deleted folders will be rebuilt when windows is starting up.

This dynamic load failure could be the result of a bug in windows setup when it was first installed. For example, it was determined a certain aspect of windows was not needed to be installed, so it wasn't but some data was left over in the registry.
If you would open c:\bootlog.txt, and find the line "dynamic load failed" and look for these lines above it. These are just examples to look for.
    [00175E62] Dynamic load device VPOWERD.VXD
    [00175E62] Dynamic init device VPOWERD

    Thanks, Mark!
I did as you suggested, and it's cut almost a full minute off my startup time! The dynamic load failure message is still there, though the file name/# apparently keeps changing (it was 000C0D7C this morning, and 0010FB35 just now). The line directly above it says only "dynamic load device" -- the rest of the line is blank (all the other "dynamic load device" entries are followed by something else, as in your examples).
Since there's nothing associated with it, it doesn't seem likely that there's anything to be done about that particular failure message.
In the meantime, I thank you heartily for your instructions, and in particular, for getting my SR back up and running!

Thanks for posting back how it went.
If you decide to use those commands in the future, omit this line.
    deltree c:\_restore
That one does your SR folder.
