I have a DVD writer on my PC. The DVD drive says on the front of it that it is R/RW and DVD+R. I read somewhere that +R writes faster, but might not be compatible with DVD players. I want to use the DVD writer on my PC to save VHS tapes I have to DVD, and to save stuff I have recorded on my DVR.

Can I buy blank DVD disks that are -R and write to them on my DVD+R drive, or should I buy +R disks, and try to use the on my DVD player (I think it is a small Magnavox)?

    Thanks
