    Hello bazeze,

You don't say what OS. I'll assume XP.

Try a System Restore just prior to your installation of Anydvd.

    Regards - Charles

Ok bazeze, my canned response, see if that works.

    System Restore doesn't work

One reason - the space allocated to System Volume Information is filled to the maximum which is 12% of Drive space. Neither XP or WinME handle this situation well.

To make room: right click on My Computer > Properties > System Restore tab and for the Monitored drive > settings. Move the slider left to 6% and reboot. This will make room for the Restore Operation. Afterwards, reset the slider back to 12%.

    Regards - Charles

    Hello bazeze,

The reference I found was for WK2 - not XP:
    http://support.microsoft.com/search...EMENT&Query=STOP+0x0000001A+MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

The remedys outlined is one to remove the hardware from the system in device manager and two to replace the RAM.

To do the first, right click on My Computer > Hardware tab > Device Mamager > expand the ROM devices > right click on the device > uninstall. Then reboot allowint the system to reinstall the device.

    To check the RAM:

EDIT: Double posted - take this one off.

    Hello bazeze,

The reference I found was for WK2 - not XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/search...EMENT&Query=STOP+0x0000001A+MEMORY_MANAGEMENT In any case, the folllowing would be done for any OS.

The remedys outlined is one to remove the hardware from the system in device manager and two to replace the RAM.

To do the first, right click on My Computer > Hardware tab > Device Mamager > expand the ROM devices > right click on the device > uninstall. Then reboot allowing the system to reinstall the device.

To check the RAM: Download MS's memeory software and run that http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp If you have more than one memory stick, try switching them or using one at a time.

    Regards - Charles

    Hi bazeze,

If I make the DVD writer as Master and Dvd rom Slave, will it help

Don't know whether it would help or not, but by all means try it. Make sure you can reverse any changes made.

Did you make any changes to the ROM drives along with the install of the DVD writing software? If the current setup is the same as its always been and worked prior to the problem, then that's probably not the issue.

This might also be a driver issue, look for the most current driver for the DVD and re-install them. In the Device manager, roll back the current driver and install the latest if there is one.

If none of this works then you may have to repair the installation, do you have a XP CD?

    Regards - Charles

    Hi bazeze,

SP2 is not going to resolve this issue. As you write Everything was working perfect and would muddy the waters further. After you get this issue staightened out, then you should consider installing SP2.

Take a look at the reference on how to do a repair of XP:
    http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Whatever happened corrupeted some part of the OS.

    Regards - Charles

    Hi bazeze,

Sorry, I don't seem to be helping much here.

will i Format and reinstall windows.
I don't want but if that the only solution then be it.

It may not be the answer, that's the problem. However, there are benefits to a clean install: for one thing you would get rid of all the accumualted junk which is inevitable in running an OS over time.

    sholud i Go for NTFS
Yes, it's more efficiant over time, it defragments less and the potential for making it more secure is greater.

If i change the hardware will it help.
Well, that's the jackpot question - if your prepared to do it, then by all means do so.

What is the brand of the DVD burner? Someone looking at this may have some info peculiar to that make.

    Regards - Charles
