    dear sir,
    My o\s is-
    win xp pro 2003 sp2 build 2600

i have dvd writer(LG make) installed and i am using nero 7.0 ultra edition for burning cds and dvds.

few days ago i backed up some files on a dvd and yesterday i started backing up more files on the same dvd. on first writing i have already selected multisession mode. this time burning failed giving warning about "disck at once ". when i started to look about the files already on the dvd, i surprized because the system is not showing any file on it. moreover it is not recognizing dvd and all the specification on the system reading it a cd. it showing it a "blanck cd" promting to write on it. moreover the "G" change to cd drive when i insert dvd into the drive. previously it was reading as "DVD-RW ".

Sounds like you need to do two things.
Install InCD (it's on the Nero CD - it's not automatically installed - at least by earlier editions).
Disable the native CD writing in XP: click my computer > Rt-click writer > properties > recording tab > UN-check "enable CD recording on this drive "

Guess you're using XP built-in burning (which, I believe, doesn't do packet writing which is what you want in your case) and you want to use NERO InCD drag and drop, which is not running. Needs to run in background. You don't want XP and InCD fighting over which to use to burn your files. You're also using DVD disks which InCD will better understand.
