Hi All!,...I'm having a little qwerk with my Dell Latitude CPi laptop, i installed a new hard drive and used the DVD Rom to load windows and went just fine, after that i couldn't use the DVD rom for anything but playing DVD's, in "My Computer" is shows it as "DVD Drive (D:)" when i insert a CD it doesn't autostart and when i try to explore it, i get a message window saying ,..." Disk is not formatted" (then in the box) Windows cannot read from the disk, The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatable with Windows ",.........Any ideas on what might be the slight qwerk?

Dell Latitude CPiA, 400MHz P2, 512Meg. ram, A15 (latest) BIOS, Toshiba SD-C2502 DVD Rom, Toshiba MK4025GAS Hard Drive, Windows XP Pro with SP-1, and all updated,...

    Thank You!!

    Rick

    hey...

did you try going to the properties menu in My computer icon and uninstall the driver for dvd rom and then restart the computer. You will find that it is automatically installed and problem is fixed.

    try this!

I replaced the battery module and BEHOLD! everything came to life!, I believe the battery has a short in one of the cells, and somehow was mess'n up and drawing too much current from the AC power supply,....I'm just not sure, But it does work now,....P.S., I did try the tricks you told me to do, and still no aval,....THANK YOU! for responding
