Hello, Went to use my DVD Burner,Player In my tower and had to open it with a paper clip. There Is no light when I push the open drawer and the eject won't work on the key board either. there Is nothing showing up In systems manager to show that It's not working...If fact could not find anything about the player In the system.....Help! I am sure I need a new one.
    Thanks for any advise....Bev

When the computer boots does the light on the drive come on briefly? If it does that is an indication that it is getting power.

If there is no light and if you feel confident to open the case remove and reseat the power connection. Should that have no effect use another power connector if available. If there is still no light - two possibilities - the PSU (Power Supply Unit) has partly failed or the drive has failed. The latter more likrly I think.
